Hoto Art Therapy

Sometimes saying something out-loud or finding the right words can be difficult and overwhelming.   Art can breakdown barriers and creates an inviting and accessible way to communicate thoughts, feelings and experiences.  At Hoto Art Therapy we believe that through art therapy people can learn, grow and heal in a healthy and engaging way!

Art Therapy

Art therapy is an art based therapeutic approach in which art is used as a tool for communication, self-examination and healing. Art therapy can resolve emotional conflicts, increase self-awareness and self-esteem, build social skills, increase coping skills, and develop strategies for problem solving. Art therapy builds protective factors in individuals’ lives, which can lead to enhanced resilience.

ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

I am a professional art therapist located in the London, Kitchener and Waterloo regions of Southwestern Ontario. I graduated from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute and have experience in both community and agency based settings. My work has focused on emotional wellness and fostering healthy interpersonal boundaries and relationships in children, youth and adults alike.

To me providing individual-based care that adapts to you is what art therapy represents. Using creativity as a means to offer you a comfortable form of communication is, I believe, a great way to promote wellbeing, growth and healing. I am passionate about the benefits of art therapy as a positive therapeutic intervention and look forward to working with you and your family member(s).
